Motivation training for sport

Sport Motivation Training

To use Motivation Drips for sports you should include some of the following;

  • A drip to represent some form of physical exercise, such as going for a run before the "Drip Time" is over
  • A drip to represent a target to achieve, such as three 10 feet puts in golf, or thirty consecutive press-ups, within the time frame.
  • Some sort of daily sport-related reading activity, whether it be for tactics or a report on other sportspersons of interest to you.

If you want to start making a "Sport Task List" and are not used to using task lists the take a look at our "Make a Task List" section.

From Sport Task List to "Drip Time"

So, have you compiled your Sport Motivation Task List?

Ensure your tasks are in order of priority - what you wish to be completed first at the top of the list etc. It would also help to have an idea of how long you wish each task to take.

Now select a colour you want to associate with a "Diet Drip" task then take the first task and visualise it becoming a drip of ink, floating in the air in front of your eyes, then imagine it slowly (or speedily if it's to be achieved quickly) falling. You set the speed by which it falls based on your time limit for the task.

Now get on with the task, once completed remove it from your task list.

After a couple of tasks you'll find you get used to the concept of focus and therefore urgency - try it out for yourself!

Remember: If you and your colleagues embrace "Motivation Drips", you will be more successful!
